1 March 2020 – Consul General Alan Deniega and First Secretary and Consul Greg Marie Mariño of the Embassy of the Philippines in Canada attended events for the “Kabayan Ko, Kapatid Ko” (My Countryman, My Brethren) program held on Sunday, 1 March 2020 in Montreal and Ottawa, respectively. This initiative is spearheaded by the Iglesia ni Cristo (Church of Christ) and gathered Filipinos in both cities for an evening of fellowship and information on the socio-civic projects of the church. Filipinos in Bermuda await their turn to register as overseas voters with the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa at a consular outreach held on 1 March 2020..
The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa registered Filipinos in Bermuda for the 2022 National Elections. The overseas voters registration was conducted on 1 March 2020 in Hamilton, Bermuda. The outreach overseas registration was directed by Ambassador Petronila P. Garcia in order to ensure that Filipinos who have recently arrived in Bermuda, or will be reaching the age of majority on election day in 2022, are provided the opportunity to register as overseas voters.

23 February 2020, Ottawa – The Embassy of the Philippines in Canada joined more than two hundred participants for the Pinoys on Parliament 2020 (POP 2020) conference held from 21 to 23 February 2020 in Canada’s capital. The event, organized by a local organization of the same name, brought together Canadian youth of Filipino descent and leaders in government, business, sciences, culture, and the arts for a weekend of mentorship and discussion on issues affecting Filipino-Canadian youth.

Philippine Embassy Hosts Seminar on Accreditation and Other Protocol Regulations of Canada

Mr. William Guerrero, Diplomatic Security Analyst and Liaison, GAC, discusses the security and protective services that Canada provides to accredited diplomatic and consular missions in Canada. Ambassador Garcia presents tokens of appreciation to all seminar speakers, including Mr. John Choi, IRCC Liaison, and Mr. Stephane Henry, Deputy Director, Privileges, Immunities and Accreditation, GAC.
