20 June 2022, Ottawa. Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles joined National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) Executive Director Carminda Arevalo, Consul General Zady Patron of the Philippine Consulate General in Calgary, Alberta Minister of Culture Ron Orr, Associate Minister for Immigration and Multiculturalism Muhammad Yaseen, and Airdrie Mayor Peter Brown in unveiling the historical marker of Dr. Jose Rizal Monument in Nose Creek, Airdrie, Alberta. It coincided with the 161st birth anniversary of the Philippine national hero and the celebratiion of Filipino Heritage Month across Canada.
The monument was erected through the generous support of different major supporters and brick donors and unveiled to the public on 23 October 2021. This was a project of the Philippine Consulate General in Calgary.
Ambassador Robles Meets with DOST Scholars

Ambassador Rodolfo Robles and Consul General Zaldy Patron met with five future Filipino scientists who shared their experiences as students in Alberta as well as the status of their studies. They are taking their MSc or Ph. D. degrees at the University of Alberta (UoA) through a scholarship grant provided by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
Calgary PCG established the linkage between the DOST and UoA that led to the signing of the Graduate Scholarship Program in 2019, which now serves as the basis for UoA’s admission of the DOST scholars.
Ambassador Robles Promotes Credentials Recognition with Alberta Minister

20 June 2022, Ottawa. Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles proposed to Alberta’s Minister of Labor and Immigration Kaycee Madu new ways in promoting the CRC Project in Alberta. The CRC Project aims to expedite and streamline the process of recognition of credentials of internationally educated Filipino nurses, and other professionals and labor trades.
Minister Madu said that “Filipino workers are some of the best people he has encountered,” and promised to look into those proposals.
They likewise discussed the economic and social contribution of more than 175,000 Filipino-Canadians to the province.
Ambassador Robles Calls on Premier Jason Kenney to Promote Philippines-Alberta Relations

20 June 2022, Ottawa. Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles called on Alberta Premier Jason Kenney to seek the support of Alberta for the CRC Project in Canada. They likewise discussed potential areas of cooperation in the field of education, energy, labor, and healthcare.
Premier Kenney warmly welcomed the CRC Project and expressed keen interest in strengthening Philippines-Alberta relations.
Alberta is host to approximately 175,000 Filipino-Canadian, the largest ethnic diaspora in the Canada on a per capita basis.
