14 September 2024, Britannia Park – The ASEAN Committee in Ottawa (ACO) held a picnic at Britannia Park for its ASEAN Family Day celebration. ASEAN missions’ personnel and their families and friends spent the day participating in games and enjoying food brought by each mission. In her remarks as Chair of the ACO for the period of July to December 2024, Philippine Ambassador Maria Andrelita S. Austria remarked how ASEAN missions’ are like each other’s extended families, and how they take this kinship beyond their tour of duty, in other countries with other ASEAN missions, creating an ever widening sense of camaraderie.

The Family Day is an annual event by ASEAN Embassies and High Commissions to honor and strengthen friendship and solidarity among missions, their personnel, and families.
