PHILIPPINE NATIONAL ELECTIONS 2025

Registered Filipino overseas voters (in Posts/Countries adopting online voting) may vote online in the May 12, 2025 elections.

To participate, you must be pre-enrolled as an online voter. Pre-enrolment for online voting via the COMELEC Voting Portal is from March 10 to May 7, 2025.

The 30-day overseas voting period is from 13 April 2025 until 12 May 2025, at 7:00PM Philippine Standard Time.

Effective 25 July 2022, the Philippine Embassy in Canada will resume in-person non-passport consular services. Clients are requested to book an appointment through the following link: dfaincanada.com/otw/appointment

Applicants from outside the Ottawa area may follow the standard procedure for legalization of documents by mail. The steps may be found here: https://ottawape.dfa.gov.ph/.../legalization-of-documents

Dual Citizenship – Applicants must submit their applications, payment, and complete set of the photocopies (not the originals) of the documentary requirements to the Embassy by mail or courier. Once their dual citizenship application is successfully processed, the Embassy will contact them to arrange a date for their oath-taking in Ottawa. For those unable to come to Ottawa, please include a request on which consular outreach mission you wish to be included for oath taking.

NBI Clearance – Applicants may request for the NBI Form No. 5 by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. They will then be provided with the form and instructions on how to apply for the NBI clearance from Canada.

Civil Registration – Applicants must submit their applications, payment, complete set of documentary requirements and corresponding photocopies, and prepaid self-addressed courier envelope to the Embassy by mail or courier. Once their civil registration application is successfully processed, the Embassy will return their original documents and provide them with their copy of the processed registration document using the envelope that they provide.

19 July 2022, Ottawa – The Philippine Embassy in Canada successfully conducted its two-day Consular Outreach Mission in Fredericton, New Brunswick from 16 to 17 July 2022.

Embassy personnel met with the leaders of Filipino Community organizations in New Brunswick to update them on the Embassy’s initiatives and activities, including the Credentials Recognition in Canada project.

We are pleased to announce that a consular outreach in Montreal, Quebec, will be conducted by the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa on the following dates:

Saturday July 23, 2022, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and

Sunday July 24, 2022, 08:00 AM to 12:00 NN.

The consular team will only provide passport services (application and renewal) and consular notarization/legalization at the consular outreach mission.

Please note that clients for notarization/legalization will not be allowed to wait at the venue and will need to return on the indicated releasing schedule. The wearing of face coverings/masks shall be required of all applicants at the venue. We urge applicants not to bring with them people who have no business to conduct, as the crowd will be tightly managed at the venue. Travel companions may wait outside the hotel.
