Under its Personnel Continuing Education Program (PCEP), the personnel of the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa explored the various themes of modern art in a lecture delivered at the Chancery’s Kagitingan Meeting Room last 20 July 2018. Deputy Chief of Mission Francisco Noel Fernandez III echoed a lecture he attended at the One Day University recently held in Toronto.
Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship Seminar in Montreal, Quebec

16 July 2018, Ottawa. The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa successfully conducted an Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy Seminar on 14 July 2018 in Montreal attended by members of the Filipino Community availing of consular services being provided by the Embassy. The seminar was conducted by Second Secretary Jeffrey Salik.
This Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy Seminar is part of a series of seminars being conducted by the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa to cultivate an entrepreneurial sprit among the Filipino Diaspora under its jurisdiction. The Embassy recently held a similar session last April in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; Moncton, New Brunswick; Ottawa, Ontario; and in Hamilton, Bermuda last May.
Based on the 2016 census conducted by Statistics Canada in 2016, there were 37,910 Filipinos living and working in Quebec, almost 95% of them are based in Montrea006C. END

Filipino Prodigy Dazzles Audience at Sentro Rizal Ottawa

03 July 2018- Johann Derecho dazzled his audience at Sentro Rizal Ottawa when he performed, among others, the Rhapsody in Blue with intense enthusiasm and passion.
Johann is a young Filipino-Canadian musician who placed first in many prestigious piano competitions in Ontario. He came to Sentro Rizal Ottawa with his parents on a brief tour of Ottawa. Personnel of the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa witnessed his performance.

28 June 2018- The Philippine Embassy Ottawa seized the summer blast to celebrate, hail, and bid adieu to its family members.
Ottawa PE family gathered at the Embassy’s patio to celebrate the promotion of Second Secretary Jeffrey P. Salik and Mr. Noel R. Sancon and the grant of the Department’s loyalty award to Mesdames Armi Santos and Ma. Teresa Bragais. It also hailed and bade farewell to Mr. Rodel Bendicio and Mr. Pio Tejada, respectively. The young graduates of its staff, Mr. Francisco “Coby” Fernandez and Ms. Tonee Jaye B. Cuya, were also warmly congratulated for earning their high school diplomas.
