Philippine Embassy Meets with Filipino-Canadian Parliamentarian

14 November 2022 – The Philippine Embassy, led by Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Francisco Noel Fernandez III, met with Filipino-Canadian MP Rechie Valdez on 14 November 2022 to discuss the strengthening of Philippine-Canada bilateral cooperation.
CDA Fernandez briefed MP Valdez on the status of the Credentials Recognition in Canada (CRC) Project of the Philippine Posts in Canada (PPC). On top of migration issues and trade cooperation, MP Valdez and CDA Fernandez also discussed a possible visit of a Canadian Parliamentary Delegation to the Philippines. MP Valdez is the incoming chairperson of the Philippines-Canada Interparliamentary Friendship Group.
CDA Fernandez and MP Valdez were joined by Third Secretaries Jan Michael Gomez and Mary Jaselle Menteer, and Philippine Commission on Audit Officials, Ms. Adela Dondonilla and Ms. Nenita Bautista.
Philippine Embassy Connects Filipino-Canadian Students to OPM

14 November 2022 – The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa led by Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Francisco Noel Fernandez III hosted Ugnayan: Karaoke Night as its culminating activity for Pinoy Music Fridays (PMF) at the Sentro Rizal Ottawa on 12 November 2022. Students from leading universities and colleges in Ottawa participated in the Karaoke Night.
PMF is the Embassy’s contribution to the Common Cultural Calendar of the Philippine Posts in Canada (PPC). From October 7 to November 11, the PPC have been posting featured OPM songs in their official social media accounts, on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. The PMF aims to promote OPM to the Canadian audience, particularly 2nd and 3rd generation Filipino-Canadians.
The PPC is composed of the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa and the Philippine Consulates General in Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto.
Embassy Briefs Filipinos in New Brunswick on Investment Opportunities in PH

14 November 2022, Ottawa – The Philippine Embassy conducted an Invest in the Philippines briefing among Filipinos in Saint John, New Brunswick on 12 November 2022. The event promoted several financial and investment instruments being offered in the Philippines from both the public and private sectors. The meeting also highlighted the important role of Overseas Filipino Investors in the economic growth of the Philippines.
