28 January 2021, Ottawa – Philippine Ambassador to Canada Rodolfo D. Robles recently linked up with Nicky Gocuan of The Fourth Estate to talk about his recent assumption as the Philippines’ most senior diplomat in Canada. During his interview, Ambassador Robles shared his priorities for his tenure, including strengthening Philippines-Canada relations and continuing the Philippine Government’s effort to obtain the recognition of academic credentials of Filipino immigrant workers in Canada. In response to queries, he discussed ongoing travel restrictions to the Philippines due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The interview with Ambassador Robles was broadcasted on The Fourth Estate last 15 January 2021. The show is co-hosted by Nicky Gocuan and Solrac Santillan and airs every Friday evening from Calgary, Alberta via Talaluv’z Radio Worldwide.

The Canada-Philippines Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group welcomed Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles during their virtual meeting hosted by their President, Winnipeg-North Member of Parliament Kevin Lamoureux. Joining the meeting where 22 parliamentarians from both the federal House of Commons and the Senate, representing the three dominant federal political parties of the Liberals, Conservatives, and the New Democrats.
In his remarks during the meeting, Ambassador Robles solicited the support of the parliamentarians in addressing the problem of the non-recognition of the academic credentials of Filipino immigrants to Canada and protecting Filipino temporary workers against human trafficking.
The Friendship Group is expected to travel to the Philippines when the current pandemic restrictions would be lifted.

Ambassador Rodolfo Robles commemorated on 29 December 2020 the 124th anniversary of the martyrdom of Philippine National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal by laying flowers on his bust at the Sentro Rizal Ottawa located at the Chancery of the Philippine Embassy. Amb. Robles was assisted by members of the Knights of Rizal, Gatineau Chapter, led by Sir Jeffrey Salik , KOR.
