Ambassador Robles Officially Welcomed by Ottawa Mayor

Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles paid a virtual courtesy call on Ottawa City Mayor Jim Watson on 18 March 2020. Ambassador Robles conveyed his appreciation to Mayor Watson for the support extended by the latter to the various activities of the Filipino community in Canada’s capital. Mayor Watson fondly recalled the Parada ng mga Lechon (Roasted Pigs Parade) which traditionally starts the annual Philippine Independence Day picnic held in June of each year at Vincent Massey Park. The two officials are looking forward to continuing the excellent relationship between the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa and the City Government of Ottawa.
There are an estimated 14,100 Canadians of Filipino heritage in the Ottawa-Gatineau National Capital Region based on the 2016 national census.

Ambassador Rodolfo Robles Reaches Out to Filipinos in British Columbia

17 March 2021, Ottawa – Filipino community representatives from British Columbia warmly welcomed Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles during a virtual “Meet-and-Greet” event he requested and organized by the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver. Consul General Maria Andrelita Austria welcomed the participants.
Ambassador Robles thanked the members of the community for joining him and shared his programs for the Filipino diaspora in Canada. The participants provided suggestion on areas where the assistance of the Philippine Government would be important which Ambassador Robles welcomed.
The event was one of several programs Ambassador Robles is pursuing to reach out to the almost one million members of the Filipino diaspora in Canada, which is the second largest after the Filipino-American community in the United States.
