09 March 2017, Ottawa - Ambassador Petronila P. Garcia participated in the Roundtable discussion with Mr. Peter Hall, Chief Economist of the Export Development of Canada (EDC) on 09 March 2017. Heads of Diplomatic Missions and Parliamentarians were also present during the fruitful discussion. EDC provides Canadian exporters with trade financing, export credit insurance and bonding services, as well as foreign market expertise. END

Fernandez III, in his capacity as Chargé d'Affaires, a.i., signs the guest book of the House of Commons in a meeting for heads of diplomatic missions from the Asia-Pacific region hosted by the Honorable Geoff Regan, Speaker of the House of Commons. DCM Fernandez conveyed the best wishes of Ambassador Petronila P. Garcia to Speaker Regan and highlighted the contribution of the Philippines to the global discussion on migration during the meeting.

The 3rd Philippines-Canada Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation convened in Manila from 16 to 17 February 2017. The Philippine Delegation was headed by DFA Undersecretary Enrique A. Manalo (6th from left) while the Canadian delegation was led by Director General Ian Burchett of Global Affairs Canada. Ambassador Petronila P. Garcia (5th from right) led senior officials from the Philippine diplomatic and consular missions in Canada in this biannual meeting.
