In his official visit to the Province of Manitoba during the last weekend of May 2022, Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles continued his advocacy to enlist support from provincial governments for his Credentials Recognition in Canada (CRC) Project which seeks to harness the full contribution of Filipino professionals to their new communities in Canada.
In his separate meetings with Manitoba Advanced Education and Immigration Minister Jon Reyes, a Canadian of Filipino heritage, and Justice Minister Kelvin Goertzen at the Legislative House in Winnipeg, Ambassador Robles enlisted their support to address the challenges in preventing Philippine-licensed Filipino professionals from being accredited to practice their profession in the fields of health care, accountancy, engineering, and education, among others. Ambassador Robles proposed the negotiation of bilateral arrangements between the Philippines and the Province of Manitoba to contribute towards the CRC Project.
The CRC Project is the coordinated approach initiated by Ambassador Robles to facilitate the recognition of academic credentials and work experience earned in the Philippines by Filipino immigrants to Canada. It is being implemented simultaneously by the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa and the Philippine Consulates General in Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto.
