Chargé d'Affaires, a.i. Francisco Noel R. Fernandez III promoted awareness on human trafficking in a briefing to members of the Filipino diaspora in the Prince Edward Island P.E.I., Canada's smallest province.
In a meeting with the representatives of the Filipino Community in P.E.I. organized by the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Toronto on 16 September 2022, Fernandez encouraged participants to monitor human trafficking indicators in order to protect Filipino employees against falling victim to this modern version of slavery.

The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa, through Chargé d'Affaires, a.i. Francisco Noel R. Fernandez III, called on Executive Director Jamie Aiken from the Office of Immigration of Prince Edward Island (P.E.I.) at the latter's office in Charlottetown on 16 September 2022. Labor Representative Rachel Zozobrado-Nagayo from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Toronto and P.E.I. Immigration's Employer Outreach Officer Teresa Tu were likewise present.

We are pleased to announce that a consular outreach in Montreal, Quebec, will be conducted by the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa on the following dates:
Saturday, 24 September 2022, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and
Sunday, 25 September 2022, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

The consular team will only provide passport services (application and renewal) and consular notarization/legalization at the consular outreach mission.
