16 October 2023, Toronto - Philippine Ambassador to Canada Maria Andrelita S. Austria, received Toronto-based Canada-Philippines Business Council (CPBC), together with Philippine Consul General Angelica Escalona and officers from the Philippine Embassy and Consulate General in Toronto. The CPBC, organized in 2003 and led by its current President Ms. Cora dela Cruz, informed the Ambassador of the group’s reactivation and plans in light of current trade and economic discussions under Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy.

25 October 2023, Ottawa - The Philippine Embassy in Canada participated in the first-ever Y Embassy Chef Showcase event on United Nations Day, 24 October 2023, held at the Global Affairs Canada’s John G. Diefenbaker Building in Ottawa.
Representing the Philippine Embassy, Filipino-Canadian Executive Chef David Vinoya brought to the culinary competition his artistic and flavorful version of kare-kare, a dish of roasted pork belly with achiote peanut sauce, sauteed heirloom carrots and shrimp oil.

International NGO Compassion Canada calls on Philippine Ambassador Austria

18 October 2023, Ottawa - Philippine Ambassador to Canada Maria Andrelita S. Austria received Compassion Canada’s President and Chief Executive Officer Allison Alley and Director of Programmatic and Philanthropic Engagement Chris Ortiz at the Embassy of the Philippines.
Compassion Canada, an international NGO with programs across 27 countries, discussed their upcoming commitments and priorities in the Philippines, including enhancing disaster safety and economic resilience, and strengthening survival programming, having served 109,287 children over 51 years of operation in the Philippines and with 455 community-based organizations.
Ambassador Austria expressed support for development projects in the Philippines and shared insights on the Philippine government’s priority areas. END
