Ambassador Robles Meets Regina Community Leader

21 July 2021, Ottawa – Philippine Ambassador to Canada Rodolfo D. Robles received today with Mr. Pepito Escanlar, President of the Philippine Association of Saskatchewan (PAS). Mr. Escanlar called on the Ambassador to present a print of his painting “Bayanihan” which he is donating to the Philippine Embassy.
“Bayanihan” was among the artworks of Mr. Escanlar that were featured during the exhibit “Pamana: Sights and Sounds of Our Filipino Heritage” held at the Philippine Embassy from 26 September to 10 October 2019.

Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles welcomed the candidature of Fiilpino-Canadian France Stohner who is seeking to represent the district of Snowdon in the Montreal Borough of Cote-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grace (CDN-NDG) in the City Council of Montreal. Stohner was introduced to Ambassador Robles by Borough Mayor Sue Montgomery who is seeking re-election at local Montreal elections scheduled in November.

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) activated an online link to receive and process the following types of online applications or transactions from Overseas Filipinos who already have existing voter registration records with complete biometric data in the Commission's database, namely:
- Certification as an overseas voter
- Reinstatement of names inadvertently omitted from the National Registry of Voters (NROV)
- Correction of entries in the Overseas Voters Registration Record (OVRR), specifically on the following fields:
- Voter's surname by reason of marriage, death of spouse, or final court judgment
- Voter's civil status by reason of marriage, death of spouse, or final court judgment
- Voter's name, to correct a misspelled name or erroneous entry
- Request to withdraw the application for registration
- Request to cancel the OVRR
- Reactivation of OVRRs that were deactivated due to causes listed in Section 14 of the Overseas Voting Act of 2013, such as failure to vote in two consecutive national elections
- Updating of mailing or postal addresses and other contact information of registered Overseas Voters
- Transfer of registration records between different Posts or Countries
- Transfer of registration records from overseas to a Philippine city or municipality, but only insofar as the cancellation of the overseas voters' names from the Certified List of Overseas Voters (CLOV) and the removal of their overseas voter's registration from the Book of Voters are concerned
- Applications for the issuance of certified true copies of OVRR and other activities related to the Office of Overseas Voters (OFOV)
Overseas Filipino voters wishing to avail of this COMELEC online service may file their requests through the following means:
- Using the iRehistro System on the COMELEC website via https://irehistro.comelec.gov.ph/irehistro/ovf1;

- By Facebook Messenger at https://fb.com/overseasvotingph.
Overseas voters registration requiring the live capture of the applicant's biometric data (such as their photograph, signature, and fingerprints), including first-time overseas voter’s registration, are encouraged to personally visit the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa or Philippine Consulates General in Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto, whichever is nearest to the place of residence of applicants.

Ambassador Robles Opens Launching of Retail Dollar Bonds in Canada

Ambassador Rodolfo Robles (left) welcomed attendees of the virtual Canada-wide launch of Retail Dollar Bonds with National Treasurer Rosalia V. De Leon.
In a joint virtual program organized by Philippine Posts in Canada (PPC) on 15 July 2021, Retail Dollar Bonds were successfully launched by the Philippine Bureau of Treasury (BTr).
The event was attended by members of the Filipino community across the Canada who are constantly supportive of PPC initiatives and programs. The event may still be viewed from the Facebook pages of the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa and the Bureau of Treasury.
