In celebration of the 2018 National Women’s Month, the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa organized a simple lunch at the Chancery in recognition of, and a gesture of appreciation for, the valuable contribution of women colleagues, headed by Ambassador Petronila P. Garcia, serving the Philippine Foreign Service.
Deputy Chief of Mission Francisco Noel R. Fernandez spearheaded the arrangements for the lunch which started with a reading of Maya Angelou’s poem entitled “Phenomenal Women” to highlight women’s individual and collective strength and their importance to the government, the Foreign Service, and to the entire nation as well.
