Head of the Consular Outreach Team to Moncton, Consul Alexander Joseph Estomo, briefed the applicants before their oath-taking ceremony for reacquisition of Philippine citizenship

28 April 2025, Ottawa – The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa successfully conducted a consular outreach mission in Moncton, New Brunswick on 26-27 April 2025. A team from the Embassy and the Migrant Workers Office (MOW) - Toronto delivered essential consular and migrant workers services, and other assistance to the Filipino community in New Brunswick and nearby Atlantic provinces, and conducted an information campaign on the Internet Voting component of the 2025 National and Local Elections.

Over the two-day mission, the team provided a total of 316 consular services, and  facilitated the oath-taking of 42 new dual citizens.

Representatives from the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in Toronto were also present and provided critical services, including the verification of 36 employment contracts and the renewal of 38 OWWA memberships, further advancing the welfare of overseas Filipino workers.

As part of the Embassy’s ongoing efforts to promote electoral participation among overseas Filipinos, the team provided information and assistance to active overseas voters, guiding them on the enrollment and internet voting process.

This consular outreach mission in Moncton forms part of the Embassy’s commitment to serve overseas Filipinos throughout Canada, especially those residing in regions far from the Embassy and Consulates General. END
