Philippine Embassy Joins 2021 ASEAN Picnic

12 September 2021, Ottawa – The Philippine Embassy in Canada, led by Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles, joined representatives from the diplomatic missions of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam for the 2021 ASEAN Picnic on 12 September 2021 at Rockcliffe Park and the Rockeries. Participants mingled outdoors, took part in games, and enjoyed traditional dishes brought by the different Missions.
An annual activity of the ASEAN Committee in Ottawa (ACO), the ASEAN Picnic was suspended in 2020 due to health restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year saw the resumption of the event as the province of Ontario entered Step 3 of its reopening plan.

Mobile Voters Registration Held in Montreal in Support of the 2022 National Elections

Filipinos in Montreal register as overseas voters for the 2022 National Elections.
The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa conducted a one-day mobile registration for Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV) in Montreal, Quebec on 11 September 2021. This is the second OAV registration activity in as many months following the easing of provincial COVID-19 health restrictions and inter-provincial travel
In organizing the mobile voter’s registration, Ambassador Rodolfo Robles said: “We continue to facilitate the registration of Filipino overseas voters for the 2022 National Elections to ensure their continued engagement in the affairs of their motherland.”

28 August 2021, Montreal – As the Province of Quebec loosened restrictions on public gatherings, the Embassy of the Philippines in Ottawa conducted a Town Hall Meeting with Filipino community leaders in Montreal. This was the first in-person meeting of Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles with the Filipino diaspora in Canada since he assumed office in October of last year.
