Filipinos in Montreal register as overseas voters for the 2022 National Elections.
The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa conducted a one-day mobile registration for Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV) in Montreal, Quebec on 11 September 2021. This is the second OAV registration activity in as many months following the easing of provincial COVID-19 health restrictions and inter-provincial travel
In organizing the mobile voter’s registration, Ambassador Rodolfo Robles said: “We continue to facilitate the registration of Filipino overseas voters for the 2022 National Elections to ensure their continued engagement in the affairs of their motherland.”
Montreal, a 2-hour drive from Ottawa, is home to an estimated 35,000 Filipinos, most of whom were unable to travel to Ottawa due to travel restrictions brought by the current COVID-19 pandemic.
The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa welcomes interested Filipinos wishing to register for OAV without need of a prior appointment during office hours from 9AM to 6PM.
