Ambassador Rodolfo Robles (2L) hosted lunch for MP Rechie Valdez (3R) and MP Kevin Lamoureux (2R).
1 December 2021, Ottawa – Philippine Ambassador to Canada Rodolfo D. Robles hosted lunch on Wednesday, 1 December 2021, in honor of Member of Parliament Rechie Valdez. Valdez was elected last September to the federal House of Commons, making history as the first female Canadian of Filipino heritage to sit as a federal Member of Parliament. She is only the second Filipino-Canadian elected to the federal parliament after Dr. Rey Pagtakhan who represented the riding Of Winnipeg North – St. Paul from 1997 to 2004.
MP Kevin Lamoureaux, Chair of the Canada-Philippines Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, introduced Valdez to Ambassador Robles during the lunch.

Robles (2L, second row) welcomes participants to the Consular Consultation of Philippine Posts in Canada held virtually on 28 November 2021 graced by the participation of Assistant Secretary Ed Menez (rightmost, third row), Assistant Secretary Paul Raymund Cortes (2L, bottom row), and Assistant Secretary Senen Mangalili (left most, bottom row) from the Department of Foreign Affairs.
29 November 2021 – The annual Consular Consultation of Philippine Posts in Canada (PPC) was held virtually on 28 November 2021 to discuss current consular policies and explore ways to address challenges in the efficient provision of these services to Filipinos in Canada. Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles hosted the annual gathering. Senior officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs were joined by officials from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO), and Social Security System to serve as resource speakers.
The participants received updates on travel restrictions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, information on forthcoming projects to improve consular and assistance-to-nationals services, and programs to engage the Filipino diaspora across Canada.
PPC is composed of the Philippine Embassy in Canada and the Consulates General in Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto.

29 November 2021 – Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles hosted the annual Economic Consultation of Philippine Posts in Canada (PPCs) held virtually on 27 November 2021.
The Consultation reviewed the accomplishments in 2021 and discussed proposed activities for 2022, including the state of Philippines-Canada trade and investment relations, priority goods and investment sectors for promotion, cooperation in agriculture, and expanding linkages in science & technology, among others.
Senior officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Department of Science and Technology (DOST) were joined by officials from the Trade Section of the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto, the Tourism Representative in New York, and the Agriculture Attaché in Washington D.C. to serve as resource speakers during the event.
PPC is composed of the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa and the Consulates General in Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto.
