In celebration of International Women’s Month, the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa conducted a workshop on Gender Sensitivity on Thursday, 16 March 2017. The workshop, which was attended by all Embassy personnel, tackled gender concepts, the impact of culture and gender, and the use of gender fair language, with a view to maintaining gender sensitive workplaces and promoting gender mainstreaming as mandated by the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Gender and Development Plan and the Magna Carta of Women (RA 9710).

14 March 2017, Ottawa – Ambassador Petronila P. Garcia joins other Women Heads of Mission in Ottawa [also known as Women Ambassadors of Ottawa (WAO)] to meet with the Honorable Rona Ambrose, Leader of the Official Opposition, at a luncheon on 09 March 2017. This Diplomatic Group, chaired by the Moldovan Ambassador H.E. (Ms) Ala Beleavschi, actively engages different institutions of and personalities in the host country to constructive and meaningful dialogue.
