20 JUNE 2022 – Fifty Filipinos from different provinces in Eastern Canada took their oath of allegiance to retain/reacquire their Philippine Citizenship under R.A. No. 9225 at the Mindanao Hall of the Philippine Embassy in Canada on 18 June 2022. The oath taking ceremony was conducted by the Philippine Embassy during its Saturday service to commemorate the 124^th Anniversary of Philippine Independence.

12 June 2022, Ottawa - Philippine Ambassador to Canada Rodolfo D. Robles and officers and staff of the Philippine Embassy joined the Filipino community in Ottawa for the Philippine Independence Day mass held at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Ottawa on Sunday, 12 June 2022. Following the Eucharistic Celebration, an Independence Day reception was held at the social hall of the parish, hosted by the Philippine Independence Committee of the Ottawa Valley.

10 June 2022, Ottawa - The Philippine Embassy in Canada joined the Filipino community in Ottawa for the annual Philippine Independence Day Gala on Friday, 10 June 2022. The highly awaited celebration saw Filipino and Canadian guests showing off their formal Filipiniana while being regaled by musical and dance performances over dinner.

Organized by the Philippine Independence Committee of the Ottawa Valley (PICOV), an association of Filipino community organizations in Ottawa, the celebration had Philippine Ambassador to Canada Rodolfo D. Robles as guest speaker.

Ambassador Robles encouraged the community to continue commemorating and celebrating Philippine independence and pass on their heritage to the next generation.
