EXPANDED CENTENARIANS ACT OF 2024 NOW IN EFFECT (REPUBLIC ACT NO. 11982)

The Philippine Embassy in Canada is pleased to announce the implementation of Republic Act No. 11982, also known as the Expanded Centenarians Act of 2024, which amends the Centenarians Act of 2016.
Filipino senior citizens who reach the age of 𝟖𝟎, 𝟖𝟓, 𝟗𝟎 and 𝟗𝟓 years old are entitled to a 𝐏𝐡𝐩 𝟏𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 incentive while those who are 𝟏𝟎𝟎 years old will continue to receive the 𝐏𝐡𝐩𝟏𝟎𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎.𝟎𝟎 and a Letter of Felicitation from the Philippine President.
📌 Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a Filipino citizen or dual citizen at the time of application
- Must have a Philippine peso-denominated bank account
📝 Application Process for Overseas Filipinos:
The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO), as one of the implementing agencies, will review and validate applications of overseas beneficiaries. This is in accordance with the Joint Memorandum Circular signed in 2025 by the CFO, National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Eligible applicants are encouraged to mail the application documents directly to the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) Main Office or through the nearest Philippine Embassies or Consulates.

Young creatives are invited to take part in the 2025 Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM) Youth for Humanitarian Disarmament Multimedia Contest!
Theme: This year’s contest highlights victim assistance and its broader societal impact—key priorities of the Philippines’ MSP13 presidency—while showcasing how humanitarian disarmament advances peace, security, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Who can join?
Youth aged 18 to 29 years old worldwide.

Multimedia works: photos, visual art, short films, or animations.

Following its successful launch in 2024 under Mexico’s presidency of the 12th Meeting of States Parties (MSP) to the CCM, the 2025 Contest is organized by the Permanent Mission of the Philippines to the UN in Geneva, in line with the Philippines’ presidency of the 13th Meeting of the State Parties to the CCM. It is held in cooperation with the CCM Implementation Support Unit and the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs under its Youth4Disarmament Initiative. The initiative reflects the Philippines’ commitment to strengthening the norms of humanitarian disarmament and focuses on victim assistance and its larger societal impact. END

14 May 2025, Ottawa - The Philippine Embassy in Canada is proud to announce the successful conclusion of the 4th Filipino Restaurant Month in Canada (FRMC), held throughout April 2025. This annual culinary celebration showcased the rich and diverse flavors of Filipino cuisine across the nation, with over 20 participating restaurants offering curated prix-fixe menus.
As part of the event, diners at participating restaurants across Canada had the chance to enter electronic raffles and win exciting prizes.

Saboroso Bistro, celebrated for its epicurean take on Filipino dishes, features specialties that highlight the rich culinary traditions of Ilonggo cuisine. It is owned and operated by Hero and Danielle Casiple.
Under the Embassy’s consular jurisdiction, Tulip Restaurant (with Filipino Executive Chef David Vinoya) and Sanduk Restaurant also participated in this year’s FRMC, alongside Silong Express and Saboroso Bistro.
FRMC 2025 forms part of the Common Cultural Calendar of the Philippine Posts in Canada. It is spearheaded by the Philippine Consulate General in Calgary, in collaboration with the Philippine Department of Tourism - San Francisco, Department of Trade and Industry, the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa, and the Philippine Consulates General in Toronto and Vancouver.
