1 June 2017 - Defense Assistant Secretary for Plans and Programs Teodoro Cirilo Torralba III leads the Philippine delegation attending CANSEC held in Ottawa from 31 May to 1 June 2017. CANSEC, organized annually since 1988 by the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI), is the largest and most important defense industry event in Canada. More than a hundred companies and organizations including Airbus, Lockheed Martin Canada, Gentex Corp, and Rolls-Royce showcased the latest technology and most innovative products and services for land-based, naval, aerospace, and joint forces military units during the two-day trade show.
The Canadian Commercial Corporation, a Canadian government corporation, invited and hosted the Philippine Delegation. Assistant Secretary Torralba was accompanied by Ms. Patricia Ann Ingeniero and Ms. Mara Czareanah Gerona of the DND. Minister for Economic Affairs Eric Gerardo Tamayo and Second Secretary Jeffrey Salik of the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa also attended CANSEC. END

Ottawa, 31 May 2017 - Constable Sebastien Lemay of the Ottawa Police Service joins the staff of the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa led by Chargé d'affaires,a.i. Francisco Noel R. Fernandez III after the briefing Constable Lemay gave on the security situation in Canada's capital. The security briefing is part of the Personnel Continuing Education Program (PCEP) of the Embassy intended to equip staff with important information to better serve the Filipino community in Canada.

29 May 2017, Ottawa – The ASEAN Committee in Ottawa (ACO) Heads of Mission welcomed H.E. Le Luong Minh, Secretary General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), during a roundtable event held at the Philippine Embassy.
During the discussions, the ACO Heads of Mission also thanked officials from Global Affairs Canada for providing the opportunity for the Secretary General to visit Ottawa and speak on ASEAN. Secretary General Minh was invited to deliver opening remarks at the Conference on Southeast Asia organized by the GAC under the theme “Southeast Asia in an evolving landscape: Prospects for an integrated region and implications for Canada” on 30 May 2017.
