Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Francisco Noel R. Fernandez III shared administrative updates with personnel of the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver headed by Consul General Maria Andrelita Austria. Held on 14 December 2022, the discussion requested by Consul General Austria was intended to apprise the Consulate’s personnel on immunities and privileges of consular agents in Canada.

Philippine Embassy Promotes Filipino Desserts in International Food Fair

The Embassy served Filipino desserts Puto Flan and Turon to Canadian Federal employees. END
Philippine Embassy Starts Overseas Voters Registration

The Philippine Embassy started accepting applications for overseas voters’ registration in view of the 2025 National Elections. The service will run from 9 December 2022 to 30 September 2024. Filipinos wishing to register to vote, transfer their registration records, and/or update their records may come to the Philippine Embassy during operating hours to avail of any of the said services.
Sentro Rizal Ottawa Hosts an Afternoon of Filipino Classical Music

10 December 2022, Ottawa. The Philippine Embassy in Canada hosted Himig Filipino: An Afternoon of Filipino Classical Music at the Sentro Rizal Ottawa on 10 December 2022.
The piano concert featured Ms. Stephanie Alexis Cruz, the 2004 Philippine National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA) First Prize Winner for the Piano Division Category B-1. Himig Filipino showcased a selection from a wide variety of Philippine Music from the Kundiman to Philippine Folk Songs. Ms. Cruz played a repertoire including Nicanor Abelardo’s Mutya ng Pasig and Constancio de Guzman’s Bayan Ko. All the songs were arranged for the piano by Pianist and songwriter Mr. Augusto Espino
Ms. Cruz is a Vice Consul at the Philippine Consulate General in Calgary. END
