23 February 2020, Ottawa – The Embassy of the Philippines in Canada joined more than two hundred participants for the Pinoys on Parliament 2020 (POP 2020) conference held from 21 to 23 February 2020 in Canada’s capital. The event, organized by a local organization of the same name, brought together Canadian youth of Filipino descent and leaders in government, business, sciences, culture, and the arts for a weekend of mentorship and discussion on issues affecting Filipino-Canadian youth.

Philippine Embassy Hosts Seminar on Accreditation and Other Protocol Regulations of Canada

Ambassador Garcia engages the Brunei High Commissioner PG Kamal Bashah PG Ahmad during a coffee break. Ms. Chantal Schryburt, Manager, Privileges, Immunities and Accreditation, Global Affairs Canada, presents to representatives of Missions from Asia Pacific countries some of key privileges and immunities provided by Canada to diplomatic and consular agents accredited in the country. Ms. Magdalena Molaire Calixte, Manager, Accreditation and Registrar, GAC, responds to questions from the participants. Mr. William Guerrero, Diplomatic Security Analyst and Liaison, GAC, discusses the security and protective services that Canada provides to accredited diplomatic and consular missions in Canada. Ambassador Garcia presents tokens of appreciation to all seminar speakers, including Mr. John Choi, IRCC Liaison, and Mr. Stephane Henry, Deputy Director, Privileges, Immunities and Accreditation, GAC.
SEASON 4 OF FILCAN TALENT CONTEST HELD IN MONTREAL

Aspiring Filipino-Canadian artists from Ottawa, Gatineau, and Montreal showcased their individual talents during the Season 4 competition of the “Nationwide Search for Filipino-Canadian Talent.” The competition was organized by the Filipino Canadian Artist Association of Quebec (FCAAQ) and held at the Salle la Découverte in the borough of Cote-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grace of Montreal, the cradle of the Filipino diaspora in the province of Quebec.
