The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa resumed its once-a-month Saturday consular services on 4 July 2020. This regular service was temporarily suspended in March when local government authorities enjoined residents to remain at home as one of several measures to address the pandemic. The Saturday service resumed after the Ontario provincial government implemented Stage 2 of its reopening phase which permitted a limited number of persons to gather.
Physical distancing and the wearing of face covers are implemented by the Philippine Embassy as its contribution to minimze the spread of the coronavirus.

The Government of the Philippines and the Filipino people congratulate the Government of Canada and the Canadian people on the 153rd anniversary of Canada’s confederation.
Close to one million Filipinos now call Canada their home. They have been welcomed across Canada’s vast expanse, from the Pacific coast of British Columbia to the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia, and into the Arctic region of Nunavut. They continue to fortify the bonds of friendship between the Philippines and Canada.
The Philippines expresses its solidarity with Canada and its people, and looks forward to further deepening its cooperation with Canada, as both countries work together towards addressing global challenges and realizing their shared goals of greater peace and stability for their peoples. END
