Ottawa PE Celebrates Women's Month

10 March 2022, Ottawa - Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles led personnel of the Embassy of the Philippines in celebrating Women’s Day. This year’s celebration was highlighted by a screening on 09 March 2022 of “Heels at Work: Do Symbols of Professionalism Imbued with Femininity Offer Women a Leg Up or Create an Unequal Footing for Them in the Workplace?” organized by the Program on Negotiation of the Harvard Law School.
The lecture was conducted by Ms. Sreedari Desai, Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior and Crist W. Blackwell Scholar of the Kenan-Flagler Business School of the University of North Carolina. Prof. Desai shared the results of her studies on the impact of women’s footwear on perceptions of competence, highlighting the gendered norms that continue to exist in the workplace.
INVITATION: SURVEY OF FILIPINO REGISTERED NURSES IN CANADA

In support of the Credentials Recognition in Canada (CRC) Project of Philippine Posts in Canada (PPC), Philippine-licensed Nurses in Canada are invited to take an online survey to determine their profile more accurately. The online survey will be open from 15 February 2022 to 15 March 2022.
This information will assist PPC in coordinating with appropriate Canadian institutions to streamline the procedure in the accreditation of Philippine-licensed Nurses to fully practice their profession in Canada.

Philippine Posts in Canada Release the E-Book Edition of The Filipinos In The Field

09 February 2022, Ottawa - The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa released the E-book edition of the Filipinos in the Field, a month-long social media project launched by the Philippine Posts in Canada in December, 2021. By the end of the campaign, the project had reached close to 300,000 people throughout Canada.
The E-book compiles the unique stories of perseverance and resilience of Filipino-Canadian healthcare professionals which were featured during the campaign. The Embassy hopes that sharing their individual and collective stories may expand awareness of the contributions of the Filipino Diaspora and inspire others who wish to pursue similar disciplines.
