Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Francisco Noel R. Fernandez III extended holiday greetings to Foreign Minister Melanie Joly in an evening reception she hosted on 8 December 2022 for heads of diplomatic missions in Ottawa.
In her remarks to her guests, Minister Joly expressed her interest to continue her engagement with her foreign counterparts. Prime Minister Justin Trudea, who momentarily graced the event, conveyed his appreciation for the efforts of diplomatic missions in Ottawa in promoting relationship with Canada.

In a dinner hosted in Montreal on 19 November 2022, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Francisco Noel R. Fernandez III welcomed the latest group of Filipino scholars from Cebu Technological University (CTU) under the ASEAN-Canada Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) program sponsored by the Government of Canada. The scholars are CTU faculty members pursuing post-graduate research programs in the Université de Québec à Montréal (UQAM) in the fields of business management, biology, agricultural science, and English.
CTU has a partnership agreement with UQAM to receive its faculty scholars, with its initial scholars participating in the SEED program during Autumn Term 2019. The current group of scholars is the fourth from CTU.
