22 November 2017, Ottawa – Trade and Investment Mission delegates from the Calabrazon Region called on Ambassador Petronila P. Garcia today, 22 November 2017, at the Mindanao Hall of the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa.
The Trade and Investment Mission is organized by the Trade Office, Philippine Consulate General in Toronto, in collaboration with the Canadian Executive Services Organization, an international development organization of volunteers that helps strengthen Filipino small and medium enterprises through expert advisory services.
During the call, the delegation from the Philippine Coconut Research and Development Foundation presented to the Ambassador samples of macapuno-based products they are currently developing. The Ambassador was also briefed on the coconut sugar livelihood project in the Municipality of Alabat, Quezon as well as the products being promoted by Filipino entrepreneurs like pancit habhab of Lucban, Quezon and bottled ingredients of halo-halo like jackfruit, sweet beans, coconuts, tapioca, purple yam, agar jelly, and sugar palm.
The itinerary for the two-week Mission included meetings with retailers, importers, distributors and manufacturers in Toronto and Ottawa as well as officials from various Canadian agencies.
The delegation is composed of officials from the Department of Trade and Industry Regional Office IV-A and Provincial Office of Laguna, Department of Science and Technology Regional Office IV-A, Municipality of Alabat, Quezon, Philippine Coconut Research and Development Foundation, Inc., and business representatives from Escaba Food Products, Inc. and Amstature Foods.
