The event served as a platform for direct engagement with the Filipino community and to raise awareness on the importance of active participation in both Philippine and Canadian democratic processes. Ambassador Austria emphasized the crucial role of the Filipino diaspora in shaping the future of the Philippines and their host country through wise voting. Ambassador Austria underscored the value of electing leaders who will work to advance issues critical to overseas Filipinos, particularly the recognition of Filipino credentials in Canada.

“In both Philippine and Canadian elections, we must choose leaders who will advocate for our community”, Ambassador Austria said. “Whether you’re voting in the Philippines or here in Canada, your voice matters. “We must also encourage our families back home to vote for candidates who genuinely care for the people and who will work to uplift the pride and dignity of every Filipino. We need leaders who will uplift the Filipino name, both at home and abroad, and who will champion fair treatment and opportunities for our community.”
