7 November 2023 – A delegation from the Freedom of Information-Program Management Office (FOI-PMO) of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) conducted a technical cooperation visit to Ottawa and Halifax on 4-13 November 2023. Led by Assistant Secretary for Operations Evangeline De Leon, the six-member PCO delegation is composed of officials and technical staff tasked to implement Executive Order No. 2, s. 2016 (or the policy instrument for Freedom of Information).

During their stay in Canada, the PCO delegation met with counterparts from the Treasury Board Secretariat, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the Office of the Information Commissioner of Canada, as well as human rights advocacy organizations such as the Centre for Law and Democracy.

Through its interactions with various government and non-government organizations in Canada, the PCO delegation hoped to learn about Canada’s best practices in information, education, and communications efforts to enhance  media and information literacy and establish multi-stakeholder engagements and partnerships.
