19 September 2023, Ottawa - The Philippine Embassy called on Mayor Philip Brown of Charlottetown on 18 September 2023. Deputy Head of Mission Myca Magnolia M. Fischer briefed Mayor Brown on the conduct of consular activities and thanked him for his support to the outreach mission. Mayor Brown remarked on the growing Filipino community in PEI and how the island’s maritime setting is very familiar to Filipinos. He also celebrated the fact that many Filipinos are showing an entrepreneurial spirit which contributes to the economy of the city.

Also in attendance was Filipino Community leader in PEI, Ms. Leticia dela Rosa, who noted the openness of Charlottetown, and PEI in General, to Filipinos.

Mayor Brown also committed to supporting events celebrating the Filipino identity and community in Charlottetown.
