PR 157 group Consular Outreach Regina Sep2019

02 October 2019, Ottawa - Deputy Chief of Mission Francisco Noel R. Fernandez led the consular outreach mission conducted by the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa, together with the Philippine Overseas Labor Office – Vancouver PCG, SSS – Calgary PCG, and PAG-IBIG – Toronto PCG in Regina, SK from 27 to 30 October 2019.

A total of 572 consular services, majority of which were processing of renewal of ePassports applications. Thirteen former Filipinos applied for the reacquisition of their Philippine citizenships who took their respective oaths of allegiance on 28, 29, 30 September 2019.

The outreach team gave a briefing on the 7th Edition of Winter Escapade (WE7) to Filipinos availing of consular services, and encouraged them to register and disseminate information on WE7 to their family and friends. WE7 brochures and leaflets were distributed to interested individuals.

First Secretary Salik, likewise, delivered talks on the Embassy’s financial literacy and entrepreneurship program to encourage Filipinos to plan their finances and make profitable investments for their future.

Based on the 2016 Statistics Canada census, there are 8,955 and 33,600 members of the Filipino Diaspora in Regina and in Saskatchewan, respectively. END.
