The Embassy of the Philippines in Canada successfully concluded the second installment of its Self-Defense Seminar on Friday, 5 April 2019. The seminar, which was attended by Embassy personnel and their respective families, was launched in March in commemoration of International Women’s Month and facilitated by Mr. Dax Morfe, former coach of the Philippine National Taekwondo Team.

The two sessions saw Mr. Morfe briefing the participants on personal security and demonstrating various self-defense scenarios. Assisted by members of the Morfe family who are also Taekwondo practitioners, the seminar attendees practiced the appropriate drills and maneuvers for different situations.
At the end of the session, Deputy Chief of Mission Francisco Noel Fernandez III thanked Mr. Morfe and his family for sharing their time and skills with the participants during the seminar and awarded them certificates of appreciation. END.
