Filcom Oath

08 May 2018, Ottawa – Leaders of the Quebec Council on Philippines-Canada Business and Trade (QCPCBT), a Filipino community organization based in Montreal, called on Ambassador Petronila P. Garcia today, 08 May 2018, at the latter’s office and at the Chancery’s meeting room.

During their call, Ms. Remedios Monteagudo, president of QCPCBT, informed Ambassador Garcia that one of the most important objectives of their organization is to cultivate entrepreneurial spirit among their members through education, and business mentoring and coaching. Ms. Monteagudo shared that some of their members are already planning to venture and invest in a business with partners in the Philippines.

Right after the call, Second Secretary Jeffrey P. Salik administered the oath to the newly elected officers of QCPCBT while Ambassador Garcia witnessed the oath-taking ceremony. The leaders then attended an information Session on Entrepreneurship which was conducted by Second Secretary Salik.

QCPCBT was officially established in July 2014 when its articles of incorporation were registered in Montreal. The organization currently has more than 20 members, all of whom are based in Montreal. END.
