23 April 2018, Ottawa. The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa successfully conducted Entrepreneurship Seminars in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island from 18 to 19 April and Moncton, New Brunswick from 20 to 21 April 2018. Second Secretary Jeffrey Salik led the discussions during the seminar which was attended by more than 50 members of the Filipino Community in Charlottetown and Moncton.
The seminar provided the participants information on a wide range of topics – from conducting market research, and designing business plans to developing business relations with suppliers and employees, and raising the needed capital. The seminars were conducted simultaneously with the Embassy’s Consular Outreach Missions in Charlottetown and Moncton.
Based on the 2016 Canada Census, there were 355 and 575 Filipinos in Charlottetown and Moncton, respectively, who are mostly employed in the services and manufacturing sectors. END
