26 February 2018, Ottawa. Ambassador Petronila P. Garcia called on Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Development and La Francophonie Celina Caesar-Chavannes today, 26 February 2018, at the latter’s office in Wellington Bldg. in Ottawa.

During the call, Ambassador Garcia thanked Parliamentary Secretary Caesar-Chavannes for the assistance extended by Canada to the Philippines. Ambassador Garcia noted the recent completion of the “JobStart” pilot program aimed at helping marginalized youths to enter the workforce and the implementation of the new Sexual Health and Empowerment (SHE) Philippines project which complements the Philippines’ priority Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Law. She recalled Canada’s continued assistance to those affected by natural calamities through its 4 post-typhoon projects in Antique, Ilo-ilo, and Samar, Leyte benefitting more than 33,000 people, half of whom are women.

Parliamentary Secretary Caesar-Chavannes is a member of Parliament for Whitby. She used to serve as Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister from December, 2015 to January, 2017. END
