29 June 2017, Ottawa – Ambassador Petronila Garcia welcomed a delegation from the Commission on Higher Education and representatives from various universities in the Philippines visiting Ottawa. The delegation is attending a 27-day training program in Canada on “Internationalization of Higher Education in the Philippines” which aims to link universities in the Philippines with their foreign counterparts.
The delegation will be visiting a number of universities in Ontario and Quebec, including University of Ottawa, McGill University and Carleton University, among others, to explore possible partnerships for twinning agreements and research collaboration.
Senior officials from the following Philippine universities are participating in the training program, namely: (a) Caraga State University, (b) Capitol University, (c) Cavite State University, (d) Cebu Technological University, (e) Central Bicol State University of Agriculture, (f) Central Mindanao University, (g) Centro Escolar University, (h) Far Eastern University, (i) Holy Angel University, (j) Lyceum of the Philippines – Batangas, (k) Mapua Institute of Technology, (l) St. Paul University Philippines, (m) Tarlac Agricultural University, (n) Technological Institute of the Philippines, and (o) University of the Immaculate Conception. - END -
