MP Chandra Arya and MP David Graham presented the congratulatory message of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to PICOV Chair Nora Arriola on the occasion of the 119th anniversary of the declaration of Philippine Independence.

The week-long celebration of the 119th anniversary of the declaration of Philippine independence was capped with the annual dinner gala last Saturday, 17 June, at the Centurion Conference and Event Centre in the Ottawa suburb of Nepean. The event was organized by the Philippine Independence Committee of the Ottawa Valley (PICOV) led by President Nora Arriola, with the support of the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa.

MP Chandra Arya read the congratulatory message of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to the Filipino community in Canada at the event. The independence day messages of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Foreign Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano were read by Deputy Chief of Mission Francisco Noel Fernandez III.
