The Philippines participated in the 34th International Tourism and Travel Show (ITTS) held in Montreal, Quebec Province, on 1-2 November 2024. Organized by the Philippine Tourism Board and the Philippine Department of Tourism, the Philippine booth showcased the country’s prime tourist destinations such as the beaches of El Nido in Palawan and the Banaue Rice Terraces in Ifugao, among others. Private sector representatives from the Philippines Representatives from Philippine Airlines (Canada) and Sharp Travel Philippines joined the Philippine delegation.
The ITTS is considered Canada’s biggest annual travel show with more than 100 participating countries represented by their respective tourism offices, tour operators and agents. The show was open to the general public and tourism professionals to meet experts in travel and learn about global and local destinations and activities.
In her welcome remarks during the business-to-business country presentation, Philippine Ambassador to Canada Maria Andrelita S. Austria cited the many reasons tourists should consider the Philippines as their next travel destination – scenic landscapes, cultural treasures, and breathtaking natural wonders. Ambassador Austria also highlighted the numerous accolades received by the Philippines from the World Travel Awards such as the World’s Leading Dive Destination, World’s Leading Beach Destination, the World’s Leading City Destination for Manila as well as Asia’s Best Cruise Destination, and Asia’s Leading Dive Destination.
