04 June 2024, Ottawa. Ambassador Austria and Member of Parliament for Cambridge Bryan May had an engaging discussion on the Filipino diaspora in Cambridge and nuclear energy-related developments in the Philippines and Canada.
The two spoke about the dramatic increase of the Filipino community in Cambridge, marked by their growing presence in the business community. Ambassador Austria welcomed this development and shared that family reunification underpins the Filipino diaspora’s presence in Canada.
They also exchanged experiences of both the Philippines and Canada on nuclear energy, including its medical use, and the possibility of learning from each other on nuclear technology.
MP Bryan May is a member of the Canada-Philippines Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group and serves as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Small Business and to the Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario. END.
