04 April 2024, Ottawa – The Embassy of the Philippines in Canada participated today in the 26th Annual Celebration of Cultures, held at the Algonquin College Student Commons Building, together with other 14 Diplomatic Missions in Ottawa.
The Embassy set up its booth with Philippine handicrafts, textiles, and tourism materials on prime tourist destinations. A photo exhibit featuring the Philippines as an archipelagic state was also on display. Booth visitors were treated to samples of some of the iconic Filipino snacks such as Boy Bawang, Goldilocks’ polvoron and pastillas in different flavors. The Filipino International Students Club of Algonquin College also shared Philippine candies to the guests. Filipino snacks were a hit to the guests who visited the booth.Lucky guests received Philippine souvenirs such as pouches, belt bags, and luggage tags courtesy of the Philippines Tourism Promotions Board.
Celebration of Cultures is an annual cultural fair organized by the Algonquin College every April. Diplomatic missions and cultural groups are invited to set up exhibits for students and employees on the college campus showcasing different aspects of their culture. END.
