26 February 2024, Ottawa – The Philippine Embassy in Canada participated in the 2024 Pinoys on Parliament (POP) Workshop by conducting a lecture on Protocol, Social Graces and Etiquette to one of the conference cohorts held at the Arts Court on 24 February 2024.

First Secretary and Consul Alexander Joseph Estomo discussed the basics of protocol, order of precedence and its applications, and hosting of ceremonies, and official and social functions.  Prior to assuming his post in Ottawa, Mr. Estomo was the Deputy Chief of Presidential Protocol in the Philippines. 

In the Question and Answer portion of the lecture, Mr. Estomo emphasized the importance of knowing proper protocol, as this is the glue that holds official life together and its proper application ensures harmonious relations between parties, particularly among nations and states.
