25 September 2023 – The Philippine Embassy in Canada launched the Winter Escapade 8 (WE8)  on 23 September 2023 at the Notre-Dame-des-Philippines 8500 Boul. Saint-Laurent, Montreal Quebec.

Philippine Ambassador to Canada Maria Andrelita Austria invited the guests to join the Winter Escapade 8 tour and have the best experience of the multi-faceted tropical beauty of the Philippines.

Ambassador Austria  was joined by New York-based Philippine Tourism Attache Francisco Lardizabal, Embassy’s Consul General Rea Oreta, and Vice Consul Mary Jaselle Menteer.

Tourism Attache Lardizabal briefed the audience about the WE8 and also introduced the Bisita Be My Guest tourism project of the Philippine Department of Tourism. Vice Consul Menteer presented the WE8 tour package and PAL’s promo fares for the tour. Consul General Oreta served as the master of ceremony during the event.

The event was attended by members of the various Filipino-Canadian organizations in Montreal, and interested and past participants of the WE. Montreal City Councillor Stephanie Valenzuela was also present. To conclude the program, the guests were treated to Filipino pork and chicken barbecue meals from Sampa and filipino-inspired ube latte and cantaloupe ice candy bubble tea from OCHA Canada.
