14 June 2023, Ottawa – In a statement before the Senate of Canada, Filipino-Canadian Senator Osler recalled the first recorded Filipino immigrant in Canada. She also noted the significant contributions of the Filipino communities across Canada. The session was attended by Ambassador Austria and the Officers of the Philippine Embassy, and the family of the late Senator Tobias Enverga, the first Filipino-Canadian senator.
