30 May 2023- Philippine Ambassador to Canada Maria Andrelita S. Austria welcomed today the Philippine delegates who will be attending Canada’s global defense and security trade show known as CANSEC at the Mindanao Hall of the Philippine Embassy. The delegation is composed of high-level officials from the Philippine Coast Guard led by Admiral Artemio M Abu and the Philippine Air Force led by Major General Araus Robert Musico. During the courtesy call, Ambassador Austria and the Philippine delegates had an exchange of views on possible engagements between the Philippines and Canada, especially in the areas of maritime defense and security, through exchange of visits and  capacity-building programs.

The delegation was also briefed by representatives from the Embassy of Canada in the Philippines and the Canadian Commercial Corporation on the activities of CANSEC to be held on 31 May to 1 June 2023. CANSEC, a two-day event, aims to showcase Canadian technology, products and services for land-based, naval, aerospace and joint forces military units. The event provides networking and engagement opportunities with military and government representatives and other international delegations. CANSEC is organized by the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries, an association composed of Canadian defence, security and cybersecurity companies. - END
