Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles successfully completed his term as Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Ottawa (ACO) and passed over the baton to Thai Ambassador Kallayana Vipattipumiprates during the virtual meeting this afternoon.

Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles symbolically presented the gavel to Thai Ambassador Kallayana Vipattipumiprates (3rd from left, upper photo tiles) to mark the turn over of the Chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee in Ottawa (ACO) from the Philippines to Thailand.

During his chairmanship, Ambassador Robles initiated a regular engagement with senior officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development during the ACO’s monthly virtual meetings. Among the senior officials who joined the ACO conversations were Global Affairs Canada Women’s Champion Sandra McCardell, Chief Economist Marie-France Paquet, and Deputy Minister John F.G. Hannaford.

The ACO is composed of the heads of the diplomatic missions in Ottawa from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam.
