PR 31 2021 cap Call on Mayor Watson

Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles paid a virtual courtesy call on Ottawa City Mayor Jim Watson on 18 March 2020. Ambassador Robles conveyed his appreciation to Mayor Watson for the support extended by the latter to the various activities of the Filipino community in Canada’s capital. Mayor Watson fondly recalled the Parada ng mga Lechon (Roasted Pigs Parade) which traditionally starts the annual Philippine Independence Day picnic held in June of each year at Vincent Massey Park. The two officials are looking forward to continuing the excellent relationship between the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa and the City Government of Ottawa.

There are an estimated 14,100 Canadians of Filipino heritage in the Ottawa-Gatineau National Capital Region based on the 2016 national census.
