12 March 2021, Ottawa - Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles met with leaders of Filipino community organizations from Alberta and Saskatchewan on Friday, 12 March 2021. The event was held online and follows the series of meet-and-greet events requested by Ambassador Robles in order to meet the Filipino diaspora in Canada.
Consul General Zaldy Patron welcomed all the participants and introduced Ambassador Robles to the group. Ambassador Robles lauded the achievements of the different community organizations in Alberta and Saskatchewan, particularly their efforts to help each other during the pandemic, and highlighted the important role of Filipino frontliners. He also encouraged the members of the audience to continue sharing their Filipino heritage to the next generations of Filipino-Canadians.
The participants talked about the work of their organizations and shared some of their concerns with Ambassador Robles. Ambassador Robles conveyed information on the Philippines’ Assistance-to-Nationals program for overseas Filipinos and the work of Philippine Foreign Service Posts in Canada to assist them during the pandemic.
