A 7-year old Filipino was adjudged the regional winner in an international competition launched by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) on design of future aircraft.

Ms. Helene Margaret Bariso Elias received her award from ICAO Secretary General Fang Liu and ICAO Council President Olumiyiwa Benard Aliu at awarding ceremonies held last Sunday, 22 September 2019, in Montreal during the ICAO Innovation Fair. Helene was accompanied by her parents when she received her award.

Ambassador Petronila P. Garcia, in a letter sent early this month, informed Helene of her achievement ahead of the public announcement made by ICAO at last weekend’s recognition ceremony. Ambassador Garcia thanked Helene for making the Philippines proud of her accomplishment at such a young age.
