The Executive Board of the Filipino Association in Montreal and Suburbs (FAMAS) hosted on 12 June 2019 the annual flag-raising activity at the Philippine Community Center in the borough of Côte-de-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grậce in Montreal to commemorate the 121st anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine Independence.

Taking place in the heartland of the Filipino diaspora in Montreal, the solemn ceremony was witnessed by leaders of Filipino community organizations in Montreal and local officials.

Deputy Chief of Mission Francisco Noel Fernandez III delivered the message of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte during the program after the raising of the Philippine flag. The participants concluded the event with a breakfast fellowship inside the Philippine Community Center.
