The Seniors of West Island and Suburbs (SWIS), a community organization founded in 2011 for Filipinos and Filipino-Canadians aged 55 years old and above, celebrated the 121st anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine independence through a dinner-dance gala held in the borough of Dollard-des-Ormeaux in Montreal in the evening of 9 June 2019.

SWIS, led by its chairperson Ms. Connie Fabro, welcomed as its special guests for the evening Liberal Member of Parliament Frank Baylis, Dollard-des-Ormeaux borough mayor Alex Bottausci, and Deputy Chief of Mission Francisco Noel Fernandez III.

SWIS organizes weekly bingo and line-dancing events for its members and arranges tours to scenic places in Canada and the United States during the summer season.
